Date Map has no accounts and does not sell data.
Saves, likes on this device, and the legend dismissal stay in your browser (localStorage). Like counts are stored so they can add to buzz. We do not attach a name to a like. Clearing site data clears your likes here; the public count stays.
If you submit a spot, we store the name, optional link, optional pin, and the note you typed so it can be reviewed. Do not send personal information you would not post in public.
Map tiles come from the basemap provider. Drive and walk times use OpenStreetMap routing unless a Google Maps key is configured. Opening Directions still goes to Google Maps (or Apple Maps on iPhone) for turn-by-turn. Google star ratings are shown when we have a cached score or a Maps key to look the place up; the link always opens Google. We do not call Google Places from your browser.
Featured placements are paid and labeled. If you book a slot we store the place, the days, and the work email you typed so we can hold the calendar and send the morning traffic note. We do not sell that list. Traffic is counted with Vercel Web Analytics plus first-party pageviews we store (path, referrer host, a hashed device id — not your name). Featured card views, featured taps, and creator-handle taps are stored so a morning report can use numbers we actually logged. No advertising ID.
